Eight multi-functional manufacturing systems produces by the Austrian company WFL and a polishing unit made by the German firm EMAG have recently been added to Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant’s (ChTZ, part of Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation) fleet of machines, the corporation’s press service reports.

The delivery of this machinery became the reputed global manufacturers’ largest order from this company to date. Now the number of ChTZ’s modern digitized mills that were purchased under the corporate technical upgrades program will rise by a third.

The recently created leading-edge technologies subdivision that is housed on the premises of ChTZ diesel engine division now operates about thirty multi-functional manufacturing systems; in 2014, this number will rise to 58. This modern multi-tasking machinery will make it possible to replace hundreds of obsolete mills. The new machines will form the basis of the company’s up-to-date production facilities that will be capable of making great quality spare parts and nodes for the road-building vehicles and hi tech engines that are currently being developed at the plant.
