Uralvagonzavod’s Armored Vehicles Museum housed at the corporation’s head plant was recently visited by the representatives of national and local industrial magazines, some specially invitied experts from the Russian Tourist Industry Union, tour operator representatives, and potential investors from Moscow, Perm, Yekaterinburg, Riga, and other cities (35 people altogether). This was done within the framework of a press tour called the Ural Kaleidoscope. This is part of a series of information tours around the small historic towns in Sverdlovsk Region, supported by the regional Economics Ministry.

The Director of the Ministry’s SME & Tourism Department Alexander Porodnov says:

‘Industrial tourism is one of the trendy things to do at the moment. Both Sverdlovsk Region and Nizhniy Tagil might become the main feature of this sort of tourism, given the industrial heritage of the Demidovs and the industrial Soviet past, which the foreigners are very curious about. Uralvagonzavod’s Armored Vehicles Museum is one of a kind here.’
