Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation is about to complete the reconstruction of the first section of its all-plant filtering facilities; this is done within the framework of the program for the improvement of the company’s environmentally friendly segment. The obsolete technologies are being replaced with up-to-date ones, which means the negative environmental impact will be reduced several times and the production site will get plenty of recycle water that meets the utility water standards, Uralvagonzavod Corporation’s press service reports.

The project has been implemented since 2011; the general contractor for the project is ZAO Vodokanalproyekt (based in Ufa), the project implementer is ZAO RSKU (based in Nizhniy Tagil). So far, about 70% of reconstruction jobs for the new extension have been completed, and about 360m RUR out of the 2bn RUR allocated for the project have already been spent. Before the end of the year, at least 300m RUR more will be spent on the building and assembly jobs.

All the concrete-related jobs in the first of the three reservoirs have already been finished, and the frame for the new building has been put up. The primary large-size equipment for the filtering of dumped water has been installed. These are a dozen filters with adjustable charge which weight over 15tons empty and over 40 tons when charged, and 4 carbon-charge filters. The main LDP reservoirs and the maintenance sites have been installed as well: these are currently being bound.

Before the winter sets in, builders are expected to complete the assembling of the metal structures, cover the building with wall and roof panels, and finish up the glazing. This will make working in the wintertime possible, too.
