MMK, ChTPZ set up coordination council

April 16, 2015. MMK and ChTPZ Group’s Coordination Council started working at Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK).

The council meeting was attended by ChTPZ Deputy Director-General for Strategic Cooperation Alexander Golodyagin, ChTPZ Head of Purchases Alexander Kolchin, MMK Deputy Director-General for Sales Nicolai Lyadov, and representatives of ChTPZ and MMK commercial, production, and technical divisions.

According to ChTPZ press service, MMK and Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant/ChTPZ are working together on their strategic cooperation program targeted at providing Russian oil and gas companies with high quality pipes for new and existing pipelines.

The two companies signed a contract on supplying MMK Mill 5000 rolled sheets to ChTPZ Vysota 239 LDP department. MMK shipped 20% more goods to ChTPZ last year than a year earlier: 570,000,000 kg of goods were delivered all in all, with over 460,000,000 kg of goods produced at Mill 5000. This was, in fact, the greatest volume of goods delivered by MMK to ChTPZ since the two plants started doing business together. The increase mainly had to do with the need to supply pipes to Gazprom’s large-scale projects such as the Power of Siberia, Bovanenkovo-Ukhta, and the Southern Passageway.

The two companies stopped using paper invoices in February 2015 and are now conducting all of their paperwork electronically. Thanks to telecommunication channels, the whole document-handling process grew very quick, transparent, and controllable.
