Serov Ferrous Alloys Works Fined for Soil Pollution

Sverdlovsk Region Arbitration Court sustained the claim placed by Ural Federal District of Rosprirodnadzor. The environmental agency insisted that Serov Ferrous Alloys Works pay a fine of over 18m RUR for the contamination of soil, Rosprirodnadzor reports.

According to the court dossier, the damage to the soils was caused by chemical contamination, unauthorized waste dumping, and illegal cover-up of soil surface by the enterprise, Interfax-Ural reports.
