Kyrgyzstan asks for sales center in Yekaterinburg

10 November 2010 (11:11)

Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Alexander Misharin met the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan to Russia Ulugbek Chinaliyev.

The Governor said in his greeting address to the ambassador that he hoped the official’s visit to the Russian regions would be a successful one and would signify a new step in the development of Russia and Kyrgyzstan’s long-term, mutually beneficial cooperation.

Now the Republic of Kyrgyzstan is Sverdlovsk Region’s 22nd most important foreign trade partner and its 7th most important among the CIS member states. Besides, the two parties’ foreign trade turnover keeps on growing fast: the figures reached $73m last year, which was only slightly less than the foreign trade turnover figures for the pre-recession year 2008.

The Ambassador believes the parties’ agricultural produce supply system could grow more effective through the introduction of a sales center with ice plants in Yekaterinburg, so the Kyrgyz delegation asked the local officials for a suitable land allotment.

Ulugbek Chinaliyev also invited Governor Misharin to come to the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, so a delegation of Sverdlovsk Region officials headed by Alexander Misharin will probably go to Kyrgyzstan on a visit in the middle of 2011.
