Authorities suspends Home Club

Following the demand of the prosecutor from Yekaterinburg’s Chkalovskiy district, an entertainment club located on the 27th floor of a housing block at Ordenonostsev St. in Yekaterinburg was temporarily closed down.

This particular street is actually filled with skyscrapers put up by Atomstroycomplex, the city’s major developer.

It was detected in the course of an investigation that the club, which belonged to OOO Home Club, did not comply with the sanitary-and-epidemiologic regulations, consumer rights, or fire safety regulations. This was why the public prosecution authorities instituted five administrative lawsuits against Home Club’s director and against the company itself.

The court has already looked into the case built on Article 20.4 (part 1) of the Russian Federation Administrative Offense Code (non-compliance with the fire safety regulations) and suspended OOO Home Club’s activity for ninety days.

However, the club owners’ gravest offense consists in using the upper storey of a housing block. Under the existing legislation, such premises can only be used for setting up artist or architect studios, whereas any use of such premises for public purposes is forbidden.
