Russian ATMs trouble-free, Koltso Urala claims

‘The recent glitch in the Italian ATM network is something that can actually be repeated in Russia, but the likelihood of such an event is extremely low. In case of the Italian machines, the reason behind the trouble was some software malfunction,’ Bank Koltso Urala’s Card Management Department informed UrBC.
Meanwhile, the dwellers of several Italian cities were shocked a few days ago when due to a computer glitch of some sort some Postamat ATMs started withdrawing much more money from their bank accounts than the customers were actually taking out.
‘As for Russia, an ATM can stop operating properly, but this usually happens as a result of vandalism and the actions of robbers who crash the ATM screens and try to reach the money vault. In this country, the most popular machines are the ones produced by well-reputed NCR, Wincor Nixdorf, and Diebold. Bank Koltso Urala, for one, is using the modern Wincor Nixdorf AG ATMs which have been trouble-free for over six years now,’ the bank representative said.
