ROSNO pays Detour’s victims

18 July 2008 (09:45)

ROSNO, the insurance company, started making insurance payments to travelers who found themselves dumped by Detour on their vacations.

The insurer is currently compensating those who’ve applied for an insurance indemnity and produced all the documents the federal legislation states are needed to prove a breach in contractual obligations and to estimate the damage done to the victim. ROSNO makes up for both the damage caused by the tour operator’s failing to provide a traveler with the necessary papers (tickets, travel pass, hotel reservations, etc), thus making it impossible for a customer to make the trip, and for the damage done to the travelers who had to pay for their vacation one more time when in Turkey (as Detour did not pay for the hotel reservations itself).

‘As for all the incompetent claims made by a number of NGOs and public groups related to Detour and ROSNO’s alleged procrastination with making insurance payments, I’d like to emphasize that we keep on handling the tourists’ applications. Even though the first application was placed with the company less than a month ago, ROSNO has already begun compensating the travelers. All the applications are being looked into, and the decision is taken within thirty days. The list of papers one needs to provide is available from ROSNO’s website,’ Director of ROSNO’s Liability Insurance Center Galina Gulyaeva said to UrBC.
