Ural Airlines flies 640,125 passengers in January-June 2008

Ural Airlines came up with a performance report for the first half of 2008. The carrier rendered its services to 640,125 passengers in January-June 2008 (which is 25% better than a year earlier). Almost a third of these customers (191,760 people) used the airline in June 2008, which exceeds the figures for last June by 40%.

The airline’s aircraft operated 5,739 flights in January-June 2008, which was 18%, or 877 flights better than a year earlier and included 1,735 international flights (56% more than in January-June 2007), 3,439 domestic flights (6% more than in January-June 2007), and 504 flights within the CIS (24% more than in January-June 2007).

625 international flights, 700 domestic flights, and 110 flights within the CIS were operated by the company in June 2008. This was, respectively, 81% more, 5% less, and 41% more than in June 2007. 1,446 flights were operated in June 2008 altogether, exceeding the figures for a year earlier by 21%. Experts believe the increase in the number of flights can be explained by the company’s long-term fleet renovation program. For one, Ural Airlines can boast five modern and comfortable A 320 planes as well as some aircraft made in Russia.

In addition to flying its passengers, Ural Airlines handled 2.626 tons of cargo and 315 tons of mail in the first half of 2008, which was 7% and 17% better than in January-June 2007. In June 2008, 384 tons of cargo and 55 tons of mail were handled by the carrier.

The airline’s actual passenger turnover came to 1,655,011,000 passenger-kilometers in January-June 2008, which was 38% better than a year earlier. In June 2008, the passenger turnover reached 533,336,000 passenger-kilometers, which was 50% better than in June 2007. The carrier’s ton-kilometer output amounted to 156,630,000 ton-kilometers in the first half of 2008, which was 36% better than in the first half of 2007. In June 2008, the company’s ton-kilometer output totaled to 49,071,000 ton-kilometers, which was 47% better than in June 2007, Ural Airlines’ press officer reports.

The passenger load factor came to 74.2% in January-June 2008 (3% better than a year earlier), the revenue load came to 68.7% (2% better than a year earlier). In June 2008, the passenger load factor came to 77% (3% better than in June 2007), the revenue load came to 68% (the same as in June 2007).
