Uralmashzavod’s average wage goes up 40% in May-November 2007

Uralmashzavod’s average wage went up by 40% in May-November 2007 and reached 23,300 RUR a month. The enterprise now has one of the highest wages among machine-building enterprises based in Yekaterinburg and Sverdlovsk Region, with skilled workers’ wages being considerably higher than the company’s average pay. For instance, lathe operators and electrical/gas welders get up to 45,000 RUR a month, gear-tooth grinding operators, drillers, oxygen-cutting operators, blacksmiths, fettlers, metalwork locksmiths, and smelters get up to 40,000 RUR a month, and bench molders get up to 35,000 RUR a month, the company’s press officer said to UrBC.
