99 people get industrial accidents in Sverdlovsk Region in January-June 2007

The Interregional Territorial Technological and Environmental Safety Department of Rostechnadzor (the state environmental watchdog) in Ural Federal District reports 99 people got hurt in industrial accidents in the first half of 2007 compared with 191 people in January-June 2006. Ten fatal accidents have been reported since the beginning of the year, as well as two accidents involving a group of people, with one victim actually getting killed. 54.5% of the victims were aged 50-59, 27.3% were 40 to 49 years old, 9.1% were aged 20-29, and 9.1% were aged 30-39. All of them were male; the job of an electrician was declared to be the most dangerous one.
