The competition for the best architectural design of Academic construction area is held in Yekaterinburg. The Rector of Ural State Architectural Academy Alexander Starikov, Managing Director of Academic Construction project Stanislav Pridvizhkin, and other members of the assessing board have already looked at the student projects. However, since there were very many of them, the board decided to look at them in all the detail within a week. The final meeting of the board has been scheduled for December 29, 2006.

The competition was announced by the Academy and Renova Stroy Group on September 5, 2006, with over 100 students and 30 projects taking part in it. These projects were presented in the form of over 130 sketches, models, and map-cases.

The contest gives the young experts a chance to express themselves within the framework of a unique project and gain the experience of cooperating with the leading foreign experts. The winners will also be rewarded by Renova Stroy Group and might later become team members for certain parts of Academic construction project.
