Metallurgical Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil (part of Evraz Group) has been awarded the Mayor’s diploma for extensive charity work. The company traditionally runs about ten charity and support projects. Evraz Group is keenly aware of their social liabilities as a corporation, this is why their activity is targeted at providing long-term cooperation between business and society.

The Complex usually supports development of educational and national healthcare establishments, cultural and sports facilities, and religious and social bodies. This year, the company has already helped over 80 entities, including secondary and vocational schools, colleges, orphanages, hospitals, museums, sports clubs, a rehabilitation center for the minors, Tagilskiy retirement home, and some others. The company assists these organizations through buying equipment, office appliances and supplies, and furniture and by doing repairs and overhauls, providing vehicles, granting tours to sanatoriums, and by organizing some social events. Thus, the Complex presented 2,000 New Year gifts to kindergartens, orphanages and the like, as well as to low-income families and children with disabilities living in the city of Nizhniy Tagil and its outskirts.

Another field of corporate charity involves patronizing some bodies on a ‘Big Brother’ basis. This year, the company has financed school year preparations of 16 municipal schools, put up a playground for the local orphanage and college of mining and metallurgy, and sponsored repairs of gyms of 22 educational establishments, reports the spokesperson for Metallurgical Industrial Complex of Nizhniy Tagil.
