Due to the thunderstorm that hit Sverdlovsk Region on June 20, 2006, a number of accidents occured at the electricity networks of Comenergo CJSC. This was reported by a KESK-Multienergetics Ltd. representative.

There were major power cuts for more or less lengthy periods at some apartment and office buildings of Pervouralsk, Aramil, Berezovsky, Revda, Kamyshlov and Irbit. In Pervouralsk, the storm damaged a feeder, which caused some cut-offs of apartment buildings, summer cottages, and of a gas filling station. In addition, a tree fell on an overhead transmission line that resulted in some further cut-offs of apartment buildings. In Krasnouralsk, the storm disabled a 6-kilovolt cable line that left the town community facilities without electricity supply.

Tree branches that fell onto a 10-kilovolt overhead transmission line effected an accident in Kamyshlov.

In Aramil, a food industry enterprise, a state bank office, a cinema, a secondary school and some apartment houses were left without electricity supply.

The following cut-offs occurred in Irbit: a garment factory, a kindergarten and a number of apartments.
