UrBC, Yekaterinburg, February 14, 2020. ChelPipe Group supplied 2,070,000,000 kg of pipes to customers last year, which exceeded the figures for one year earlier by 8%, the company’s press service reports.
‘An increase in export sales (total amount: 736,000,000 kg/36% of all sales) proved the key growth driver last year. 1,334,000,000 kg of pipes were also sold to customers on the Russian market. Our sales of large-diameter pipes (LDPs) rose by 33% and reached 916,000,000 kg, which meant the Group reinforced its leading position on the Russian pipe-manufacturing market. OCTG sales also went up by 3% and reached 469,000,000 kg,’ the Group says.
The company also sold 23% more pipes with ChelPipe Prime premium threaded joints last year thanks to increased demand from Russian customers.
‘In 2019, ChelPipe Group’s pipe produce sales increased impressively, thus allowing the company to remain Russia’s largest LDP manufacturer and to keep up with the international expansion (the Group’s export sales actually hit a 25-year high). In order to respond to fiercer market competition, the Group introduced a number of initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and launched a transformation strategy for 2020-2024 aimed at turning the current business model into a customer-oriented one, with customer as the key value,’ says Director-General at ChelPipe Boris Kovalenkov.
