The awarding ceremony for the Best Socially Responsible Employer of The Year Contest and for Chelyabinsk Region round of the nationwide Highly Socially Responsible Russian Company Contest took place at Chelyabinsk Region Trade Union Federation directly after Chelyabinsk Region’s trilateral committee meeting.

Companies from both the state-run and private sector competed in the contest. MMK METIZ came second in Collective Agreement Management Development.

‘MMK METIZ’s Collective Agreement is one the key mechanisms protecting the workers’ social and economic rights. The agreement has been commented upon as one of Chelyabinsk Region’s and the metallurgical sector’s best contracts due to its exhaustiveness and great quality. A collective agreement is reflexive of the social partnership principles that the company’s trade union and management work on. MMK METIZ has remained one of the five best-paying mining and metallurgical companies in Chelyabinsk Region for several years now. Under the terms of the Collective Agreement, the workers’ pay gets adjusted by 5% every year. In the last two and a half years, the average monthly pay rose by11.1%, whereas Chelyabinsk Region’s inflation rate came to 8.3%; the employees’ wages and salaries did go up. In the first half of 2019, the average monthly pay came to RUB 48,178, Chelyabinsk Region Mining & Metallurgical Trade Union’s findings indicate,’ MMK says.
