MMK METIZ Wins Local Round of CSR Contest

UrBC, Magnitogorsk, January 16, 2019. MMK Group’s MMK METIZ won one of the prizes at Chelyabinsk Region round of the nationwide Russia’s Most Socially Responsible Business Contest.

According to MMK’s Information & PR Department, the contest got coordinated by Chelyabinsk Region Labor & Employment Department. The goal is to make employers more socially responsible towards their employees, ensure the development of collective agreements as a tool for managing work relations, make prevention of accidents at work and occupational illnesses more efficient, create incentives for the employers to take on and provide the necessary working conditions for people with disabilities, and encourage the employers who run CSR programs continuous employee training courses.

The awarding ceremony took place in Chelyabinsk as part of Chelyabinsk Region Government trilateral social and labour relations committee meeting. The awards were given out by First Vice Governor and the committee coordinator Evgeny Redin, the representative of the Union of Industrialists & Entrepreneurs on the committee Viktor Korman, and Chair of Chelyabinsk Region Trade Union Federation Nikolay Buyakov.

MMK METIZ received a special thank-you letter for its efficient social partnership programs in Creation & Development of Jobs in Production Sector.

This is, in fact, not the first time the plant has received the award in this category. The letter proves once again that the plant’s management and trade union have been working efficiently and consistently on social partnership issues for many years now.
