MMK-UGOL Wins 1C Contest

UrBC, Magnitogorsk, October 31, 2019. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) Group’s MMK-UGOL was among the winners of 1C: Project of The Year Contest, MMK’s Information & PR Department reports.

The company won as the Best Project in the Mining Industry category.

The contest’s organizing committee spoke very highly of MMK-UGOL’s project on improvements in the system for planning and keeping track of a company’s production and financial performance indicators based on 1C: ERP Mining Industry and 1C: CORP Document Management.

The company decided to introduce the 1C: ERP Mining Industry electronic platform-based system in 2016. The launch of the IT solutions was supervised by OOO MMK-InformService as MMK Group’s own consultant and by OOO Sinergo Soft Systems as an external contractor. The latter is an expert on the mining industry’s specific needs and has helped launch 1C:Enterprise platform-based ERP systems at businesses before.

The project was completed in 2018 and resulted in full automation of the following: taxes and accounting; records management and production management (mining, preliminary development, freight forwarding/transport, product shipment by rail); cost accounting; treasury and fund management; product costing; document management; and allocation of overhead for various construction projects.

This is the third time the International 1C: Project of The Year Contest has taken place. More than 140 projects have competed for the prize in 2019. The awarding ceremony was held at the 6th 1С: ERP Business Forum in Moscow on October 11, 2019.
