Mayor of Yekaterinburg Alexander Vysokinsky Joins Universiade 2023 Committee

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 28, 2019. Mayor of Yekaterinburg Alexander Vysokinsky joined the local coordination committee for the 32d World Summer Universiade 2023; the executive order to this effect was signed by Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuivashev.

According to Yekaterinburg Council’s website, Governor Kuivashev is the committee's, Chair, with Vice Governor Alexei Orlov, Mayor of Yekaterinburg Alexander Vysokinsky, and Rector of Ural Federal University Viktor Koksharov acting as Vice Chairs. The committee also comprises heads of Sverdlovsk Region’s government bodies, mayors of Verkhnyaya Pyshma and Sysert, security, defense, and law enforcement agencies officials, and representatives of developer businesses.

The committee will have to develop a general preparation plan for the event and provide all the organizational, economic, and social prerequisites for the student games.

The World Summer Universiade will take place in Yekaterinburg on August 8-19, 2023. The games will include competitions in eighteen different kinds of sports, with 246 sets of medals to be given out to winners.
