UrBC, Yekaterinburg, November 11, 2019. Yekaterinburg is going to replace some of its buses with new ones in time for the summer Universiade 2023, Mayor Alexander Vysokinsky told reporters today.
According to Vysokinsky, 200 new buses will get purchased in the next three years.
The Mayor says the buses will get co-funded by Sverdlovsk Region’s authorities on leasing terms.
‘The decision has been made in connection with the Universiade, we’ll run a tender and buy some 100 buses,’ Vysokinsky said.
Some of the new buses are expected to appear on the city streets as soon as the first quarter of 2020. Another 100 buses will be bought just before the Universiade.
