UrBC, Yekaterinburg, September 19, 2019. Activists from Gorod Pervykh, an environmentally focused NGO set up with support from ChelPipe Group, held a clean-up day in Olenyi Ruchyi Nature Park, the Group’s press service reports.

More than thirty volunteers took part in the fifteen-kilometer environmental hiking trip along the popular Serginsky Caves route. They picked up over 100kg of all kinds of consumption waste that were all taken to an authorized landfill.

‘Olenyi Ruchyi is one of Sverdlovsk Region’s most popular nature parks, with tens of thousands of visitors coming here from other parts of Russia and from abroad every year. Environmental clean-up trips help raise awareness of environmental problems and make tourists more environmentally conscious,’ says Gorod Pervykh coordinator Evgeny Krylov.

Gorod Pervykh activists are taking part in the clean-up event for the second time this year. The first time they contributed to an environmental project was in Taganay National Park, Chelyabinsk Region, in July.

Gorod Pervykh is a social movement that originated in Pervouralsk with support from ChelPipe Group. The NGO’s primary goal is dealing with environmental problems and raising the general public’s awareness of environmental protection issues.
