MMK Hosts Digital Transformation in Metallurgy Conference at Innoprom 2019
15 July 2019 (10:13)
UrBC, Magnitogorsk, July 15, 2019. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) coordinated a conference on digital transformation in metallurgy during Innoprom 2019 Forum in Yekaterinburg, MMK’s Information & PR Department reports.
The company representatives gave a talk on their experience with introducing IT solutions into production and spoke about the prospects of further digitizing their business processes.
Magnitogorsk-based Ausferr Tech & Research Center and the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Ural branch acted as MMK’s partners and conference co-organizers.
With Ausferr’s support, MMK has been launching efficient model analysis-based IT solutions at the plant for over two decades now; these are the digital twins of production and logistics routines; stochastic models that put together data on the product’s chemical composition, technological parameters of the production process, and the consumer properties of specific rolled steel products; digital twins of the steel-structuring process involving thermal impact/bending; and computer models of the physical processes that play a part in ensuring the necessary phase state/structural condition of a given batch of steel.
