7 June 2019 (09:17)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 7, 2019. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) Industrial Park came 30th in Expert Media Holding’s investment appeal rating of industrial parks and special economic zones.

According to MMK’s Information, Advertising & PR Department, the park went up seventeen positions in the rating in 2018 compared with one year earlier, with its investment appeal rising from BB (industrial parks that are attractive enough to investors but still need service and infrastructure improvements) to A (efficient and investment-appealing industrial parks).

This is the third year in a row that Expert Media Holding has carried the rating. The methodology is based on six criteria categories: management and services; location; the cost of production resources; taxes and tax relief options; resident customer service; and the economic parameters in the part of the country where the park is located. All the data get obtained from publicly available sources. In 2018, 101 active sites were featured in the rating all in all; in 2017, there were 84 sites in the rating. MMK Industrial Park’s net profit amounted to RUB 5.5m last year.

‘We don’t really see the industrial park as a business project. The way we conceptualize this, the park is first and foremost an efficient mechanism to support small and medium enterprises’ development; this is one of the ways to attract human capital and provide people with alternative growth directions,’ says MMK’s Director-General Pavel Shilyayev.
