EVRAZ ZSMK Makes 50,000,000,000+ kg of Rolled Goods

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 8, 2019. West-Siberian Metallurgical Plant’s (EVRAZ ZSMK) medium-section mill department has produced 50,000,000,000 kg of rolled metal goods since the departments’ Mill 450 got launched, EVRAZ Holding Siberia’s Corporate Communications Center reports.

To celebrate this production achievement, a guided tour was coordinated for the department’s long-service employees and thank-you letters were presented to both the old-time and current workers at the department.

‘Mill 450 got launched in 1976 as one of the country’s largest rolling mills. The department now makes around 600,000,000 kg of rolled goods a year, including reinforcing bars, round bars, channel beams, H-beams, rolled angles, pit props, strips, monorails, and hexagonal bars; we also hold Russia’s 100 Best Products award.’

‘EVRAZ ZSMK is the leading company on the rolled goods market in Russia and the CIS member states. The plant makes more than 400 varieties of rolled goods compliant with 63 national and international standards. Our rolled product facilities comprise a cogging mill section, a medium-section unit, a long product rolling mill unit, and a roll-turning shop,’ the Center says.

The plant’s produce is used to build bridges, airpots, and stadiums and to complete large infrastructure projects both in Russia and in the Asia-Pacific Region (India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand). In 2017, the plant also started making reinforcing bars for customers in Europe, Poland, and the Netherlands.
