The substation is now part of the 500-kilowatt Kurgan-Vityaz-Voskhod transit (total length: 631 km) that has been put up by the Russian Government’s order. The transit provided the first-ever 500-kilowatt link between the Urals’ and Siberia’s power grids within Russia, which is crucial to the stable power supply in these territories. Prior to the launch of the substation, the necessary power transit took place in Kazakhstan.
