UrBC, Yekaterinburg, February 1, 2019. MegaFon now offers better mobile connection quality on Russian roads, the company’s press service reports.

‘MegaFon Ural’s customers are now spending more time on the road. The number of Russians who traveled around the country at least once this January was 33% higher than in January 2017. As many as 458 MegaFon SIM card users went on long-distance trips every hour last month,’ the press service says.

MegaFon’s mobile connection is now available on 95.4% of thirty-two key highways (total length: almost 30,000 km). This was the best coverage performance among Russia’s top four mobile carriers/ISPs in the fourth quarter of 2018, according to Roskomnadzor.

Based on Roskomnadzor’s latest research findings, MegaFon ensures good signal quality on fifteen feeder roads, including M1 Belarus, M2 Crimea, M3 Ukraine, A310 Chelyabinsk-Troitsk, A320 Omsk-Cherdak, R254 Baikal, A181 Russia, and others. On twelve highways, the signal quality remains stable throughout over 90% of the distance. Among these highways are M5 Ural (98.8%), M4 Don (99.8%), M7 Volga (99.4%), and others.

‘We understand the importance of staying connected at all times, especially on the road. This isn't only about games and entertainment, but also about navigation and help in case of an emergency as well as your family’s peace of mind. MegaFon ensured coverage on 300 km more of Russian roads in the last eighteen months, so these days we are a reliable mobile partner for those planning a trip,’ says MegaFon Ural’s Tech Director Anton Scherbakov.
