Sverdlovsk Region’s Coal Reserves Decrease 1.7 Times

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 21, 2018. Sverdlovsk Region’s coal and furnace oils reserves amounted to 1,155,400,000 kg and 171,400,000 kg, respectively, in early December. This was, respectively, 1.7 times and 5% less than one year earlier (in December 2017).
According to Sverdlovskstat, the coal reserves available as of December 1, 2018 will be enough to keep local infrastructure facilities operating for twenty-eight days; the furnace oil stock is enough to keep them running for 962 days.
The coal and furnace oil reserves of companies operating in the electric power, natural gas, and steam supply and air conditioning sector decreased by 746,700,000 kg (or 50%) and 5,100,000 kg (or 3.5%), respectively, compared with December 1, 2017. These companies had enough coal as of December 1, 2018 to keep their business running for twenty-three days.
The boiler facilities run by Sverdlovsk Region’s town councils and those pertaining to various local ministries and departments had 81,000,000 kg of coal and 36,800,000 kg of furnace oil in stock as of December 1, 2018. This was, respectively, 8.5% and 8.8% less than on year earlier.
