UrBC, Chelyabinsk, December 19, 2018. Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant (ChelPipe) got issued a lifetime license for treating Class I-IV waste, ChelPipe Group’s press service reports.

‘The license was granted by Chelyabinsk Region division of the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Natural Resource Use (Rosprirodnadzor). Under the terms of the license, ChelPipe employees can now recycle, neutralize, and dispose of 13 different kinds of Hazard Class III-IV waste, including welding slag, emulsion varieties, and used oil,’ the press service says.

In order to obtain the lifetime license, ChelPipe had to get audited by Chelyabinsk Region division of Rosprirodnadzor. The latter looked into the plant’s compliance with the sanitary-epidemiological and environmental regulations, made sure ChelPipe had the equipment that met all of the federal legislation requirements, and assessed the qualifications of workers who deal with waste treatment. Based on the outcome of the audit, the plant was given a positive report with a special comment on the cleanliness and great production culture.

‘Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant keeps working to reduce its possible environmental impact. The plant has been implementing a series of large-scale green projects such as putting up acid waste filtering facilities and slag depositories and scientific research in the field of filtering industrial/storm water runoff units. This year, ChelPipe directed more than RUB 35 million for the purpose,’ says the plant’s Managing Director Evgeny Gubanov.

The new license had to be obtained in order to comply with the Federal Act 99 FZ (On Licensing Certain Kinds of Activity). Prior to this, ChelPipe used to operate under its license issued in 2009 and valid through 2019.
