EVRAZ Holdings Wins Silver at Corporate Charity Contest

UrBC, Nizhniy Tagil, November 22, 2018. EVRAZ Holding won silver in the Urals’ Corporate Charity Leaders Contest. The judges’ panel took into account the company’s charity and volunteer projects in Nizhniy Tagil and Kachkanar, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s Corporate Relations Center reports.
EVRAZ Nizhniy Tagil Iron and Steel Works (NTMK) submitted two projects for the contest. The plant’s grant competition called EVRAZ: City of Friends — City of Ideas! won the second prize as Best Program/Project Promoting Charity, Volunteer Projects, and Non-Profit Organizations’ Infrastructure Development in Company’s Operations Area.
Russia’s Ministry for Economic Development acted as a co-supporter for this contest category. Since the contest was established ten years ago, over two hundred projects have been implemented in Kachkanar and Nizhniy Tagil alone. EVRAZ funded urban improvements and remodeling in parks, kindergartens, schools, sports playgrounds, and green areas and helped set up robotics and sewing clubs and a planetarium.
Good Deeds Relay Race, a volunteer project, won the third prize as the Best Program/Project Promoting Volunteer Activity in Russia. The relay race took off in 2017 and has attracted more than 8,000 metallurgical workers since; together, they supported twelve educational establishments in Sverdlovsk Region.
Corporate Charity Leaders Contest is a project co-organized by the Donors’ Forum, PwC, and Vedomosti. The contest aims to support and promote corporate charity practices. Twenty-seven companies from Chelyabinsk Region, Sverdlovsk Region, Tyumen Region, and Yamalo-Nenetsky Autonomous Region competed in the Urals’ round of the contest.
