EVRAZ NTMK Launches Production Planning System

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 23, 2018. EVRAZ Holding’s Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Works (NTMK) is now Russia’s first enterprise to launch the SAP ERP- and SAP APO PP/DS-based production planning system. The PPS adjusted the plant’s order-placing, production planning, and spare parts manufacturing processes and resulted in a 10% drop in the amount of warehouse stock, the holding’s press service reports.
‘The new system allows for more efficient tracking of new orders and for timely production planning and control. Orders and applications for new spare parts get entered into an electronic system that keeps track of the delivery dates, the resources available, and the task priority. All orders get tracked properly, which means we can react to any change in the regular order parameters at once. The PPS also makes it possible to make planning adjustments on the spot, which means we can get a more precise assessment of our production capacity and thus fulfill more orders right on schedule,’ the press service says.
The system can also produce standard and customized performance and analytical reports. Making the planning processes, including keeping track of the plant’s raw material needs, automated results in a more detailed and precise purchasing order and in a shorter spare parts production cycle.
