EVRAZ KGOK Launches Automated Sintered Ore Production System

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 14, 2017. EVRAZ Holding’s Kachkanar Ore Mining & Processing Enterprise (KGOK) is introducing an automated control system for its sintered ore production equipment, the holding’s press service reports.
The new dispatcher control unit will cut back on downtimes, increase the plant’s productivity, and improve product quality.
Switching to an automated control system has been divided into three different stages, with the first one already complete. The company invested some 10m RUR into the project.
‘The plant now has up-to-date software and controllers that allow an operator to keep track of the sinter-charging equipment remotely. Fourteen conveyor units and two mixing drums are already part of the new system. Automation both excludes the human factor and makes it possible to collect, store, and analyze data on equipment performance,’ the press service says.
