UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 9, 2016. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s head plant is launching the automated production planning system Omega, the company press service reports.
The system, developed by Minsk-based Omega Production, is called to replace the plant’s current planning system that was customized specifically for mass production. Omega is based on up-to-date methods, approaches, and production planning and management mechanisms as well as a unified database of legal and reference information.
The system already controls and keeps track of the way parts and components get transferred from department to department in all the sections of metallurgical, railcar assembly, and mechanical assembly facilities, which provides for faster and more accurate data flow and thus ensures the departments’ better economic and technical performance. The system controls some 540 workplaces and has around 1,360 users.
