UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 22, 2018. MMK’s annual guitar poetry festival will be held at Gornoye Ushchelye Children’s Center on September 1, the company’s press service reports.

This is the nineteenth time the festival will be held this year. Members of MMK Group’s trade union are expected to take part in the event. The goal is to promote art songs and single out the talented authors and performers who could represent MMK Group at the All-Russian amateur guitar poetry festivals. Besides, the event is meant to help performers of guitar poetry, amateur songs, hiking songs, and other non-mainstream music to widen their repertoires, to offer them a space to get creative, and to ensure networking between bands and teams. People can come and present live the songs they composed themselves and songs by other authors.

‘There will be competitions in the following categories: author; performer; composer; duets; bands; the best hiking song. Other categories could also be introduced at the judges’ discretion. The winners and laureates will receive certificates and memorable gifts. The grand prize winner will get to go to the All-Russian Guitar Poetry Festival for the metallurgical sector workers,’ the press service says.
