July 9, 2014. People’s Folk Song Choir Ural Tunes (the company choir of ChTZ-Uraltrac, a member enterprise of Uralvagonzavod Corporation) took part in Bazhovsky Festival that was recently held near Lake Sungul, the corporation’s press service says.

According to the supervisor of the plant’s amateur performance unit Lyubov Baranova, there more than plenty of those who were willing to compete in this talent show: 650 teams from Chelyabinsk Region came to the festival. Shows were given at three different stages at once.

ChTZ-Uraltrac team had the honor of presenting on the main stage. The choir performed a quodlibet called Songs about the Urals that united musical themes created by a number of local composers. The contest judges admired the singers’ skills and awarded them the grand-prix.

The company choir became popular beyond the corporate scope a long time ago: it is well known in Chelyabinsk and Chelyabinsk Region. Two years ago, the amateur performers also took part in a festival in Bulgaria, which proved a memorable event as well.

The choir is directed by Professor of Chelyabinsk Culture & Arts Academy Lira Shutova.
