UrBC, Nizhniy Tagil, August 16, 2018. EVRAZ Holding’s Nizhniy Tagil Intergraed Metallurgical Works (NTMK) sent over 700,000 kg of H-beams off to a would-be international cruise liner and freight/passenger ship seaport in Pionersky, Kaliningrad Region, the company press service reports.

The 40K H-beams (length: 12 meters) are meant for the construction of the quays.

The port is scheduled to open at the end of 2019. Pionersky is located quite conveniently to serve as a hub of a large destination network for cruise liners and freight/passenger ships. The terminal will have all the necessary infrastructure that goes with it, such as wave protection structures, waiting areas, store yards, a border inspection post for both passengers and cargo, and a customs checkpoint.

EVRAZ NTMK makes its H-beams from vanadium-alloyed steel, which makes the product particularly durable. The plant can manufacture over three hundred different H-beam types with various properties by customers’ order. In 2017, the company also started making heavy-duty beams that are suitable for the construction of high-rise buildings.
