1 June 2018 (09:41)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 1, 2018. West Siberian Heat & Power Station operated by EVRAZ Holding’s West Siberian Integrated Metallurgical Works (ZSMK) completed its heating season 2017/2018. Everything went in standard mode and all the end users got their heating power and hot water supply in full (including during extremely low temperature periods), EVRAZ’s press service reports.

‘We managed without any emergencies during the season thanks to a large-scale repairs and upgrades campaign and the launch of our renovated Boiler Unit 9. The reconstruction of the boiler boosted our energy efficiency and increased heating and electric power output by 10%,’ the press service says.

The reconstruction jobs began in 2016. All the old pulverizing appliances got dismantled, over 70% of the boiler’s heating surfaces and the old burner units got replaced with new fittings, new draft devices and boiler furnace got installed, additional furnace gas pipelines got built in, and a layout got built for the coke and natural gas pipes.

West Siberian Heat & Power Station supplies heat and electric power to end users in the city of Novokuznetsk and onto EVRAZ ZSMK’s production site.
