UrBC, Moscow, May 30, 2018. Federal Grid Company United Energy Systems (FGC UES) and Rostelekom signed a cooperation agreement during Saint Petersburg Economic Forum, FGC UES Western Siberia’s PR & Media Group reports.
The agreement covers the ways the two parties will cooperate on the development and operation of communication networks. The paper was signed by FGC UES Chair of the Board Andrei Murov and Rostelekom’s President Mikhail Oseyevsky.
The companies agreed to mutually use their respective infrastructures to station fiber optics and telecommunication devices and to work together on innovative solutions at FGC UES’s R&D Center and Rostelekom’s Giprosvyaz Institute. Also, FGC UES will be using telecommunications services through Rostelekom’s infrastructure.
‘New achievements in the communication sector mean FGC UES can now make its corporate information and tech data transfer more efficient. This is a must if the company intends to keep introducing new digital substation and tele-control solutions across its facilities. We keep expanding our own digital communication network that operates through fiber optics located within our electric mains. Some 84% of our power grid facilities are already covered in terms of digital communication channels, with overall fiber optic length at 73,600 km (105,000 km by 2025),’ the press service says.
