Russian Duma Might Ban Plastic Bottling for Strong Drinks
5 April 2018 (09:33)
UrBC, Moscow, April 5, 2018. A draft bill has recently been placed with the Russian State Duma that proposes banning production and sale (retail and otherwise, except for export purposes) of alcohol bottled in polymeric packaging more than 0.5 liters large. The bill is now available via the State Duma’s electronic database.
‘A ban on selling alcohol in 0.5-liter-plus plastic bottles will help reduce overall alcohol intake and improve the nation’s health,’ legislators believe.
Now a ban on selling beer in plastic bottles over 1.5 liters in volume at shops and restaurants was already introduced in Russia on July 1, 2017.
