MMK, MSTU Get New Technology Award

UrBC, Magnitogorsk, November 21, 2017. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) and G.I. Nosov Moscow State Technical University got a silver medal at Metall Expo 2017 Exhibition for their development and introduction of a new technology for delivery of charging material into blast furnaces. The technology is suitable for blast furnaces with tray-type, bell-less tops and for charging material with varying pellet content, MMK Information, PR & Advertising Department reports.
‘Our member enterprise MMK METIZ also won several awards this year. The company got diplomas for designing and launching a new flange bolt and a round-head Allen screw, both of which are meant for the automobile industry and are part of our import substation program. MMK METIZ was also awarded a silver medal for the development and introduction of Class 2B carbon-bearing steel spring wire (diameter: 9, 10, and 12 mm),’ MMK says.
MMK Group’s corporate media channels also got awarded: TV IN won as the Best Corporate Electronic Mass Medium and Magnitogorskiy Metall’s editorial board won as the Best Corporate Mass Medium Among Ferrous Metallurgical Holdings.
Additionally, MMK launched its new Continuous Hot-Dip Galvanizing Unit 3 in the summer and thus also won the Russia’s Metallurgical Event of The Year Contest.
