EVRAZ: Mezhegeyugol Miners Set Production Record

18 October 2017 (13:05)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 18, 2017. Nikolay Denisov’s team from EVRAZ Holding’s Mezhegeyugol Mine’s Section 2 did 1,070 meters worth of excavation jobs in 27 days. This production record was made possible due to improvement in production organization, the holding’s press service reports.

‘Nikolay Denisov’s performance is the best among EVRAZ mining companies at the moment. I hope their output figures will serve as a benchmark for the best-performing mining teams in Novokuznetsk and Mezhdurechensk,’ says EVRAZ Vice President and head of the company’s mining division Sergey Stepanov.

Miners keep doing their excavation jobs in two adjoining mine faces though September 2017. A combine vehicle was used to cut through the coal in one of the faces, while a Fletcher roof bolter was used in the other to prop the mine sections. Taking the coal out, however, took less time than propping, so Head of Section 2 Alexander Khlebnikov suggested that miners should operate in three rather than two mine faces at a time in order to speed up the process.

This change proved very efficient: the combine vehicle is busy 24/7, and Denisov’s team manages to do 39 meters worth of excavation jobs a day. Prior to reorganization, the output stood at 28 to 33 meters a day.

‘Denisov’s team broke the record that was set at Mezhegeyugol in the spring, when Sergey Saprykin’s team and Alexander Asinskiy’s team did 1,055 meters worth of excavation jobs in one month,’ the press service says.
