Sinara Group, CRRC to Set Up JV in Russia

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 6, 2017. Sinara Group and the Chinese corporation CRRC signed an agreement to set up a joint venture in Russia. The new company’s name is Sinara CRRC Rail Transport.
According to the Group’s press service, the contract-signing ceremony on July 4, 2017 was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping. The agreement was signed by Sinara Group’s Chair of the BOD Dmitri Pumpyansky and CRRC Chairman of the Supervisory Board Wan Jun.
‘The parties agreed a year ago that they would set up a joint venture in Russia to make railway vehicles, including various kinds of rolling stock for both passenger transfers and freight forwarding. Making high-speed electric trains that can do over 300km an hour is part of the plan,’ the press service says.
According to Pumpyansky, the two companies managed to work out mutually beneficial and efficient ways of doing business together while working on this Chinese-Russian project, so now they take their partnership to the next level.
