UrBC, Yekaterinburg, June 6, 2017. Sinara Group, Siemens AG, and Federal Passenger Company signed a memorandum of intent to capture a contract for the production of long-haul Lastochka trains, Sinara Group’s PR Center reports.
The document was signed at Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum; the ceremony was attended by President of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov, President of Siemens AG Joe Kaeser, and President of Sinara Group Dmitri Pumpyanski.
Federal Passenger Company’s Director-General Petr Ivanov, Sinara Group’s Mikhail Khodorovsky, and Director of Siemens Mobility Jochen Eickholt were the ones to put their signatures on the memorandum.
‘The parties intend to consider making Lastochka electric trains for Federal Passenger Company’s passenger travel. To do this, all the technical specifications for various makes of Lastochka suitable for a range of long-haul routes must be elaborated first; besides, we also need to work out a leasing scheme to eventually buy the trains,’ the Center says.
