ChTZ Renovates Display Tractor
12 May 2017 (12:51)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 12, 2017. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant (ChTZ) had its S60 tractor (Stalinets) stationed next to the plant’s main entrance renovated, the company press service reports.
‘The plant used to make such tractors in 1933-1936 and had one of them stationed on a pedestal next to the entrance on the plant’s 50th anniversary in 1983. Since then, the tractor memorial, just like the one in Chelyabinsk’s Komsomolskaya Square, has been one of the city’s hallmarks. The only ligroin S 60 that exists in the Southern Urals today never fails to attract the attention of both locals and visitors to the city alike. This is particularly true of people who are interested in the history of Russian military vehicles,’ the press service says.
All the renovation jobs were carried out right on the plant’s premises. Old paint was removed, the surface flattened and polished, and a new coat of paint was given to the tractor to make sure the old tractor’s nodes and components look as good as new.
