FGC UES Directs 1.1bn RUR to Grid Repairs

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, April 14, 2017. Rosset’s Federal Grid Company United Energy Systems will direct 1.1bn RUR to repairing grids in the Greater Urals this year, the company press service reports.

Most of the funds will be spent on repairing electric mains: 7,400 insulators are to get replaced, over 1,400 supporting beams will have to be repaired, and 432 km of ground wires are to be assembled. Also, it will be necessary to pull down around a thousand trees that might obstruct the mains and clear 5,700 hectares of main lines.

Additionally, substations commutation equipment needs to be replaced, including 1,100 disconnecting switches and 313 circuit breakers. Moreover, 220-kilowatt substations Buzulukskaya in Orenburg Region and Zvezdnaya in Udmurtia will get fitted with new SF6 circuit breakers.
