Federal Grid Company Gets Ready for Winter in Siberia

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 14, 2016. Rosset’s Federal Grid Company United Energy Systems got certified for compliance with the winter/fall preparation standards in the upcoming heating season of 2016/2017, the company press service reports.
The certificate proves that the company took all the measures necessary to ensure reliable power supply in winter in time and in full.
‘All the maintenance and repair jobs were carried out in accordance with the year’s schedule. 2,000 new insulators, 262 vent fingers, 283 supports, and 1,400 support foundations got replaced or reinforced in the mains pertaining to Khanty-Mansiysky Autonomous Region, Yamalo-Nenetsky Autonomous Region, and Tyumen Region,’ the press service says.
Additionally, the company had 1,200 trees cut down to avoid damage to the electric mains and got 6,260 hectares of air space cleared. Seven transformer units, 146 circuit breakers, and 1,138 disconnecting switches also got repaired.
