UrBC, Yekaterinburg, October 10, 2016. The Ural subsidiary of Rosset’s Federal Grid Company (FGC UES) got certified for the winter of 2016/2017 and is fully ready for the new heating season, the company press service reports.
A two-stage check of all the power facilities on site proved that all the jobs relating to ensuring stable power supply in Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan, Orenburg, and Kirov Regions, Udmurtia, and Perm Territory were done property and in time.
‘All the preparation jobs are complete by now. We carried out a number of repairs before the winter as usual, which cost 605m RUR this year. The typical repair jobs included replacement the old insulators with new ones, repair and replacement of transformer units and high-voltage circuit breakers,’ the press service says.
This year, the company staff replaced over 32,000 worn-out insulators and more than 360km of ground wire, repaired 1,500 support beam foundations, and replaced 49 support beams with new ones. The repairs involved the 500-kilowatt mains Votkinskaya-Yemelino, Yuzhnaya-Reftinskaya, Kurchatovskaya-Shagol, and Iriklinskaya-Gazovaya. Also, 324 circuit-breakers got repaired, including one in Sverdlovsk Region’s Yuzhnaya and Tagil Power Substations each.
Now the Ural power facilities’ breakdown rate decreased by 19% in the nine months of 2016 against one year earlier.
