UrBC, Yekaterinburg, April 12, 2017. Rusatom Healthcare’s Nuclear Medicine Technologies Snezhinsk recently opened a new atomedics center in Chelyabinsk and is ready to welcome patients in need of a positron emission tomography scan, Rusatom’s Communications Department says.

Rusatom Healthcare is Rosatom’s daughter enterprise set up specifically with the goal of integrating businesses and technologies to do with nuclear medicine in Russia; the company relies on its own materials and equipment. Their cyclotron/radiochemical unit is Rosatom’s first integrated atomedics project that comprises the entire technological/service chain.

The equipment will be used for cancer-related diagnostics with the help of ultra-short-lived fluorine isotopes that get delivered to the center from their own production site in Snezhinsk. All you need is your oncologist’s recommendation. The tests will be paid for through state-funded insurance. You can also pay out of pocket, but you still need a doctor’s recommendation to get the test done.

Patients are welcome who come from all the clinics and hospitals in Chelyabinsk Region as well as in other parts of Russia, including Sverdlovsk Region.
