EVRAZ Employee Wins Glory to the Man of Labor Prize

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 31, 2017. Irina Osadchaya, an atmospheric control lab engineer from EVRAZ Holding’s Nizhniy Tagil Integrated Metallurgical Works, won an environmental award in the Glory to the Man of Labor professional skills contest, EVRAZ Holding Ural’s press office reports.
Osadchaya presented her report on the environmental effects of retooling the company’s coke dry-quenching plant in Professional Engineers category.
‘The CDQ plant upgrades have meant the unit was fitted with new suction systems and fabric filters. This is the first time something like this has been done in Russia or other CIS member states. The new technology is expected to reduce our air emissions by 20%, which will do good to Nizhniy Tagil’s environment. The unit will get launched in the summer of 2017. EVRAZ Holding invested 175m RUR in the project,’ the press office says.
