15 March 2017 (13:54)

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, March 15, 2017. The Ural Bank for Reconstruction & Development’s Visa Maximum holders got nearly 4m RUR in cashback in the first three months within the launch of the new card type (between October 28, 2016 and January 31, 2017, that is), the bank’s press service reports.

The cardholders made 193,000 transactions (total amount: 240m RUR) in the given period altogether.

Under the terms of the cardholders’ agreement, 1% off every purchase gets transferred back to the cardholder’s account (10% off every purchase in special categories such as Cafes & Restaurants, Entertainment, and Household Appliances in the first three months). The eat-out industry proved the most popular choice with UBRD customers, as 27% of all cashback payments fell into this category. Household Appliances (19%) and Supermarkets (14%) were also among the top three spending segments. The maximum one-time cashback amount reached 24,200 RUR and got transferred to customer’s account in December 2016.

There are over 7,200 Visa Maximum cardholders at the moment, most of whom are based in Yekaterinburg. Yekaterinburg residents are also the ones who got over a half (51%) of the overall cashback amount.

Between February 1 and April 30, the 10% cashback option applies to Pharmacies, Beauty Products, and Sports Goods.
